I love making a delicious breakfast on Sunday mornings before church. It helps get everyone in a good mood and ready to be in the grace of God. In this weeks case, it was to help everyone feel better, because once again, I have a houseful of sick people.
I especially enjoy making frittatas. They’re easy and so yummy, and you can make so many different varieties, so your family will never get bored. It’s easy to just throw together something quick with whatever you can find in your fridge or pantry.

A couple weeks ago my husband broke his leg/ankle. I won’t get into details, but it’s been hard on all of us. Hence, why I missed my weekly Wednesday post last week. Which I want to apologize for, even if no one really noticed! On top of it, Lucy and I both have nasty colds and are just really feeling crappy, so it’s been no fun for everyone.

I can hardly believe it! This year has been such a whirlwind, I can’t believe it’s already over! When people say these years go by quick, they are not lying! Those first three months could not go by slower, but ever since then I feel like we’ve been in warp speed. Lucy starts smiling and giggling, and before we knew it she was taking steps and playing games with us. It’s truly amazing how much they learn and advance in just one year.

I’ve had a lot of questions about what I cook for my family on busy days, so I thought I would share with you some of my favorites. Most families these days are super busy, but every mom needs at least a few easy go-to dinners. We all want to be good moms and prepare healthy, delicious meals for our family, but we don’t always have the time. Sure you can always whip up something random from all the leftovers in the house, but knowing that you can make a tasty, healthy meal quick and easy with just a few ingredients, makes any stressed out mom feel a whole lot better. Here’s just a few of my favorites, but I plan to post more yummy recipes in this continued series.

Ladies!! Baseball hats are no longer just for men! I haven’t never really been a hat person, but since becoming a mom, I am starting to love hats. Maybe it’s the casual style I like, or the fact that is hides my gross hair that hasn’t been washed in weeks (Shhh!). Either way, I’m totally loving the look.

Becoming a mom has been such a humbling experience. When I was modeling, I found it hard to make friends with people outside of the industry. Most people didn’t understand the industry and what I did, so it was just easier to stick with the people who did. Although I’ve always been outgoing and easy to get along with, I found myself becoming more and more of an introvert as the years went on. I always enjoyed my alone time and traveling alone, and it just got worse as time went on.

Recently I was contacted by Raised Real to test their product, and I must say, I am SO impressed. What a great idea and the execution is awesome. I’ve been explaining this company has the “Blue Apron” of baby food, because that’s basically what it is. Making your baby’s food has now become easier than ever, and it’s all thanks to Raised Real!

It’s no secret, I love reading and I love books. I am one of those who refuses to use a Kindle or Ipad to read, because I just love having the actual book. Reading is a personal thing to me and something about turning the pages in my hand makes it feel more personal. When I got pregnant, I vowed to have a child who loves reading as much as I do. That’s why when I found Bookroo, I was so delighted. I feel like we have subscriptions for everything now a days, so why not children books? What could be better than getting new books every month, right to your door step?

This past Monday Lucy and I got to go visit the Color Factory. Similar to The Museum of Ice Cream, this place is a photographers dream! This pop-up exhibit has been featured in numerous cities and finally made it’s way to San Francisco. Like The Museum of Ice Cream, these tickets are not easy to get! Continue reading

Lately I’ve been kind of obsessed about eating seasonally & locally. I figured, I have some free time during the day to hit up different farmers markets, so why not? And I have to admit, once I started, I was totally hooked! Not only do you get super fresh produce but the farmers markets have so much more than you would ever know! Think meats & fish, cheeses, nuts, bread and even honey! With so much delicious ingredients grown locally, we really are spoiled! So why not take advantage of it?
