Ladies!! Baseball hats are no longer just for men! I haven’t never really been a hat person, but since becoming a mom, I am starting to love hats. Maybe it’s the casual style I like, or the fact that is hides my gross hair that hasn’t been washed in weeks (Shhh!). Either way, I’m totally loving the look.

Becoming a mom has been such a humbling experience. When I was modeling, I found it hard to make friends with people outside of the industry. Most people didn’t understand the industry and what I did, so it was just easier to stick with the people who did. Although I’ve always been outgoing and easy to get along with, I found myself becoming more and more of an introvert as the years went on. I always enjoyed my alone time and traveling alone, and it just got worse as time went on.

Recently I was contacted by Raised Real to test their product, and I must say, I am SO impressed. What a great idea and the execution is awesome. I’ve been explaining this company has the “Blue Apron” of baby food, because that’s basically what it is. Making your baby’s food has now become easier than ever, and it’s all thanks to Raised Real!

It’s no secret, I love reading and I love books. I am one of those who refuses to use a Kindle or Ipad to read, because I just love having the actual book. Reading is a personal thing to me and something about turning the pages in my hand makes it feel more personal. When I got pregnant, I vowed to have a child who loves reading as much as I do. That’s why when I found Bookroo, I was so delighted. I feel like we have subscriptions for everything now a days, so why not children books? What could be better than getting new books every month, right to your door step?

This past Monday Lucy and I got to go visit the Color Factory. Similar to The Museum of Ice Cream, this place is a photographers dream! This pop-up exhibit has been featured in numerous cities and finally made it’s way to San Francisco. Like The Museum of Ice Cream, these tickets are not easy to get! Continue reading

Lately I’ve been kind of obsessed about eating seasonally & locally. I figured, I have some free time during the day to hit up different farmers markets, so why not? And I have to admit, once I started, I was totally hooked! Not only do you get super fresh produce but the farmers markets have so much more than you would ever know! Think meats & fish, cheeses, nuts, bread and even honey! With so much delicious ingredients grown locally, we really are spoiled! So why not take advantage of it?

I am so excited we got to go to The Museum of Ice Cream this past week. This place is heaven. If you like sugar, ice cream and pretty things, then this is your kind of place. We took so many fun photos and had such a wonderful time, so of course I had to make a post about it!

I’ve waited a whole year for this weekend: Fort Mason’s Annual Book Sale!! This is one of my favorite places to be. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I love books!
I first started going to the book sale a few years ago. I always loved it but after finding out we were pregnant, it became even more special to me. This is a tradition I look forward to continuing with Lucy for many years to come.

Bedtime routines are so important to babies and young kids. Heck, even adults benefit from a bedtime routine. According to studies most babies will be receptive to a schedule around 6-8 weeks, but it’s never to early to start. A proper bedtime routine can aid in calming your little one and prepare him or her for a good night’s sleep.

It’s important to always have enough “you” time, otherwise even the best of us can loose it. No one in your family benefits from a tired, worn out, frustrated mother. Sometimes it can be hard to let go and take some time for yourself (at least it is for me), but it’s so important for our well being and our family. There is nothing selfish about leaving the kids with dad for a couple hours to go get a mani/pedi or go to the gym. So many of us feel guilty when it comes to “me time”, but that should never be the case!
