Doing a photoshoot can be scary, but doing a maternity photoshoot is a whole other story. I’ve modeled just shy of a decade, and I was still so nervous when it came to every maternity shoot I did. It’s a time where you feel most vulnerable and not yourself, so feeling sexy and confident can be a bit difficult.

I have so many pregnant friends right now, and I love being able to help them all out with their pregnancy questions. There is so much weird (and awkward) stuff that happens with your body during pregnancy, it’s hard to keep up sometimes. Between the extra sweat, awful heartburn, swollen feet and crazy mood swings, there is a lot going on. It can all get very overwhelming quickly, especially for the hormonal basket case we all become during those months.

When I found out I was pregnant, I went CRAZY trying to find the right products for our new baby. Reading all the different books, blogs and websites about how to prepare for your bundle of joy, I literally began to loose my mind! So many different types of car seats and strollers, your head could spin for days. The countless hours spent researching and posting different brands and products. Then, when that baby finally arrives, I find out I only needed half of the things I lost so much sanity and sleep over.

I will never forget the time I was pregnant and walked out of a store with only pickles and ice cream. I had no intentions of eating them together (I didn’t have that crazy of cravings thankfully!) but regardless, I was THAT pregnant lady. I didn’t even realize what I was doing until I had left the store! The entire walk home I was so embarrassed, walking with just those two items, of course with no bag. Talk about the pregnancy walk of shame.

Finding out I was pregnant was a bit of a shock. After all, I had been told by multiple different doctors that I couldn’t have children. I had just gotten use to the idea and set my heart and goals on modeling and traveling the world. So when I spent hours running back and fourth between the bathroom and the couch (between peeing every 5 minutes and my terrible morning sickness – the ENTIRE pregnancy), I knew something was up. After spending weeks in denial, I took multiple pregnancy tests before I actually started to take it seriously.
